| Details: Our client is searching for a Transportation Manager to add to their team! The Transportation Manager is a contract to hire role with full benefits once permenant. If you have the experience below we encourage you to apply immediately! Responsible for the outbound routing and shipping of all purchase orders, using multiple 3PL warehouses and freight brokers. Manual entry of the non-EDI orders is required. Send all orders to appropriate contacts in a timely fashion. Ability to utilize on-hand freight data and industry standards to analyze efficiency of logistics and spend. Help to negotiate new carrier rates, effectively handle calls from carrier providers, maintain carrier contracts and rate calculators. Audit all incoming freight bills. Work with sales reps and customers to get delivery date extensions for PO’s, as needed. Work with our inventory department on a daily basis to discuss timing of inbounds and ways to handle out of stocks. Coordinate all backorders or substitutions on customer’s orders with the brokers and customers. Track late or lost outbound shipments and communicate updates and revised delivery dates to customers and sales reps, maintain problem shipment log for our A/R and Inventory department. | ||||
